Athletic-inspired design from Christine Sharkey's blog

"GmbH continue to impress with their sneaker collaborations, the German fashion label again linking up with asics hombre, this time for the GEL-Quantum 360.After initially teasing the collection during their FW2020 show, three colourways have been confirmed for a yet-to-be-announced release date. The first of the set looks as if it’s been dipped in tar, the mismatched colourway accented by hits of gothic blood red in the sole, heel, and parts of the lacing unit.

The first of its kind for Boston’s new balance outlet, the capsule collection comments on Singapore’s duality as both a sprawling urban city and a tropical island getaway. As such, the 327 is literally split down the middle with both aesthetics, summarizing the overall themes solely through visuals. Lateral sides are relatively ordinary yet tinged with the militaristic as olive suede adorns the overlays while black nylon outfits underneath. Opposite, a green variation dresses the base, printed over top with “Urban Island” text as well as pineapples on one foot and leopard-styled camouflaged on the other. Moreover, the “Urban Islander” moniker is used once again atop the tongue as well as the insole’s special co-branded graphic.

In departure, the scarpenoto.com seems more vacation friendly by design as the tropical motifs take further foothold along the offering’s upper. Pineapples and ornate text are carried over from the aforementioned complement, placed atop a green-tinged construction whose BOA lacing system takes up a good majority of the real estate. Elsewhere, tanned webbing wraps overhead and behind along the heel, the latter further stamped with the pack’s “Urban Islander” branding.

Aggressive in design, this click here iteration applies the ever-recognizable and oversized zig-zagged patterns to to its angelic base layers and midsoles which are presented in solid black form across the upper, and in forest green atop the rear midsoles, the latter of which is a direct nod to the now non-existent Seattle franchise. Additionally, the vector branded hits dispersed to the forefoot, tongues, and heels are also swathed with dark green complexions to further nod to the NBA team’s throwback threads. If you’re looking to add this retro-inspired piece to your rotation.
